Former D5 wrestler's battle with cancer

I'm sure many of you that have been around the District 5 wrestling scene for more than a decade remember the powerful Lorson family from Berlin Brothersvalley. I'm at work and don't have the stats in front of my right now, but the four sons of coach Rick Lorson made the turn-of-the-century Mountaineers a force to be reckoned with.
In my mind, Nick Lorson might have been the best of the bunch. He was athletically gifted and had a bit of an on-the-mat mean streak to him, but he battled injury problems throughout his career - some of them pretty serious.
Unfortunately, Nick's health problems have gotten worse since he got out of high school. It's unbelievable what he has had to go through. The Daily American just did a story on his courageous battle with cancer.
The family is holding a fundraiser to help him in his fight. A benefit will be held June 29 in McDonaldton (just outside of Berlin). It's a 21-and-older event with food and beverages available. For tickets, you can contact Rick Lorson at 814-442-5710.
If you're able, please do what you can to help the Lorson family. They've been great ambassadors for the sport and just great people. If you can't lend a financial hand, please keep Nick in your thoughts and prayers.
