106
1. H. Campbell, CH, 12, 26-3; 2.
Christie, WH, 9, 21-5; 3. Brown, T, 10, 15-9; 4. Pirl, LV, 9, 23-4;
5. D. Hamilton, MV, 11, 19-5; 6. Jo. Boozel, MU, 9, 24-7; 7. Turner,
MC, 9; 8. McCall, FH, 11, 18-10; 9. Yearick, PV, 10, 24-7; 10. C.
Walls, U; 11. Musselman, CK, 12, 15-11; 12. Miller, J, 12, 8-14; 13.
Walker, SH, 9, 14-11; 14. Sample, WB, 9, 15-14; 15. Weinell, B,
14-15; 16. Kline, H, 10, 5-4; 17. Ca. Ulery, C, 9, 9-16; 18. Rager,
PC, 9, 6-15; 19. Holsinger, R, 9; 20. Janowsky, JV, 10, 6-14; 21.
Wheeler, SJ.
Instant analysis: Some good records here, but I wouldn't call this one of the strongest 106 brackets in recent years. Huntur Campbell looks like the heavy favorite, although he didn't wrestle Westmont's Derrick Christie in their dual.
113
113--1. Murin, CC, 10, 26-1; 2. Link,
PC, 12, 27-3; 3. Couteret, WB, 11, 24-8; 4. Keiper, FH, 12, 24-1; 5.
Benson, H, 9, 23-9; 6. Ball, MV, 9, 17-8; 7. C. Dorian, WH, 9, 16-11;
8. Zapach, MC, 11; 9. B. Campbell, CH, 10, 15-10; 10. N. Walls, U;
11. Earnest, C, 9, 12-10; 12. Todaro, MU, 9, 15-12; 13. Patterson,
SH, 11, 11-14; 14. Steiner, JV, 11, 9-13; 15. Zarkovich, J, 9, 8-11;
16. Huskey, LV, 9, 8-12; 17. Lafferty, CK, 9, 8-17; 18. Cherry, T,
10, 7-18; 19. Wortman, SJ.
Instant analysis: It would take a major upset to avoid another Murin-Link match. They've split a pair of matches this season, with Link winning the most recent bout in the final of the Thomas Tournament in Bedford. Westmont's Clayton Dorian is down at 113 after spending the season at 120.
120
1. Glorioso, H, 11, 32-2; 2.
Andrews, WH, 11, 24-4; 3. Kern, JV, 9, 20-0; 4. Wiles, MC, 11; 5. Swab, C, 9,
19-9; 6. McCall, FH, 12, 22-8; 7. D. Walter, CK, 12, 15-11; 8.
Bauman, WB, 10, 18-13; 9. Talko, PC, 9, 7-4; 10. Park, SH, 11, 11-14;
11. Stidfole, MU, 10, 13-14; 12. Snyder, J, 10, 14-17; 13. Casper,
CC, 10, 10-11; 14. Cunningham, B, 11, 13-17; 15. Dugan, MV, 10,
12-17; 16. L. Walls, U; 17. Dautlick, CH, 12, 10-13; 18. Lybarger,
JO; 19. J. Husar, P, 10, 3-17.
Instant analysis: Top-seeded Collin Glorioso of Huntingdon looks to be the prohibitive favorite. Westmont freshman Carnell Andrews has been impressive at 126, and it will be interesting to see how unbeaten Hunter Kern of Juniata Valley stacks up after facing competition that wasn't quite of to the level that Glorioso and Andrews have seen.
126
1. Law, FH, 12, 30-1; 2. Decker,
PV, 11, 24-6; 3. Bro. Biddle, C, 10, 26-2; 4. Ostrowski, CC, 11,
27-5; 5. Caldwell, LV, 9, 21-14; 6. Rouser, R, 12; 7. Confer, WB, 10,
17-13; 8. Beatty, MC, 9; 9. Sacolic, G, 12, 16-8; 10. Dodson, CK, 10,
16-10; 11. Blackburn, WH, 11, 11-7; 12. Stoy, PC, 9, 15-11; 13.
Hunter, T, 10, 8-10; 14. Walters, J, 11, 9-15; 15. W. Shope, H, 11,
9-15; 16. Kitchen, CH, 9, 8-10; 17. Bennett, MV, 10, 5-11; 18. Diven,
MU; 19. C. Lutz, P, 10, 7-18; 20. Curren, BA, 9, 0-16.
Instant analysis: Law comes in with a couple of state medals and a 26-match winning streak, plus he's down from 132, where he spent the season. That certainly makes him the favorite, but it won't be a walk in the park. While I don't get to see Decker much, he should push Law, assuming both make it to the finals. Central's Brock Biddle and Central Cambria's Ian Ostrowski could make for some interesting semifinals as well.
132
1. George, R; 2. Ja. Boozel, MU,
11, 28-3; 3. Gilson, J, 12, 27-6; 4. Kennedy, C, 10, 20-8; 5. Parks,
WB, 10, 21-9; 6. Cornetto, MC, 10; 7. Hurd, PV, 10, 20-7; 8. Demko,
MV, 9, 16-9; 9. D. Dorian, WH, 12, 21-9; 10. Walker, U; 11. Kish, CC,
11, 14-11; 12. Bryant, PC, 10, 8-16; 13. Sheaffer, H, 10, 11-16; 14.
Weinell, B, 11-18; 15. B. Mezzello, CH, 10, 6-12; 16. Patton, SH, 11,
6-15; 17. Brown, G, 12, 4-13; 18. Gageby, P, 10, 4-17; 19. Thomas,
JV, 10, 21-6; 20. Watters, BA, 9, 2-19.
Instant analysis: I'm guessing that Adam George's record isn't listed because of some of the issues with TrackWrestling, which appears to have him at 23-3. I would favor George over Mount Union's Jake Boozel in the finals, although I don't think I saw Boozel's best in Bedford, where he lost twice to Chestnut Ridge's Morgan Deremer. Boozel owns a 5-0 victory over third-seeded Richie Gilson of Juniata and two dominat victories over fourth-seeded Ethan Kennedy of Central.
138
1. Clark, LV; 2. Opdenhoff, CC,
11, 25-3; 3. Hoenstine, C, 12, 25-3; 4. Confer, PV, 12, 13-8; 5.
Scott, H, 10, 14-6; 6. Stevens, PC, 11, 18-13; 7. Rojas, G, 12, 17-6;
8. Steel, MU, 11, 20-9; 9. Dixon, T, 10, 15-14; 10. Lowther, U; 11.
Mical, WH, 12, 15-11; 12. Stewart, MC, 12; 13. Krupa, MV, 11, 11-8;
14. C. Hypes, CK, 10, 13-14; 15. Carr, B, 12, 4-7; 16. Kristofits,
WB, 11, 9-17; 17. Moore, J, 12; 18. Kuskoski, CH, 12, 4-8; 19.
Wingard, FH, 10, 8-19; 20. Fleming, JO; 21. Saloga, R, 6-10; 22. N.
Lutz, P, 12, 4-14; 23. Harper, BA, 2-6; 24. Dunkle, SH, 10, 3-13; 25.
Feagley, JV, 12, 5-16.
Instant analysis: I don't see much of Ligonier Valley, so I was a little surprised that Dalton Clark was in last week's Off the Mat rankings (the latest I've seen). I'm even more surprised to see him atop the seedings here. Maybe it's just that I'm more familiar with Central Cambria's Tommy Opdenhoff and Central's Nick Hoenstine, but I think I'd take whomever makes it out of the lower bracket over Clark.
145
1. Stewart, MC, 12; 2. Patrick,
LV, 9, 24-7; 3. Templeton, FH, 12, 29-3; 4. Baney, H, 10, 25-5; 5.
Eckenrode, PC, 12, 23-8; 6. Brown, MV, 10, 23-4; 7. Jo. Wilson, BA,
12, 13-5; 8. Bierly, PV, 11, 17-8; 9. Kellison, J, 11, 16-6; 10.
Gill, CH, 11, 15-7; 11. Quarello, C, 11, 18-7; 12. Tress, MU, 11,
20-9; 13. Verhovsek, R; 14. Emel, SJ; 15. Snyder, T, 12, 17-13; 16.
Bracken, U; 17. Plummer, P, 10, 6-7; 18. Hughes, G, 10, 7-10; 19.
Dunmore, CK, 10, 9-15; 20. Benson, SH, 9, 8-17; 21. Folckemer, CC,
10, 1-8; 22. LaMantia, B, 11, 5-14; 23. J. Dorian, SH, 11, 6-20; 24.
Sankey, WB, 9, 3-19.
Instant analysis: This looks like one of the deeper weight classes, as No. 10 seed Austin Gill of Cambria Heights is a former regional qualifier. Top-seeded Isaac Stewart of Marion Center already owns a win over No. 2 Robby Patrick of Ligonier Valley, as does No. 5 seed Mike Eckenrode of Penn Cambria. But Eckenrode also has lost to No. 4 Seth Baney of Huntingdon and No. 10 Gill. Bottom line, Stewart and Patrick are probably rightly regarded as the favorites, in that order, but they better be on top of their game, or they might be in a battle just to qualify for regionals.
152
1. Oliver, H, 10, 31-1; 2. Hurd,
PV, 12, 18-6; 3. D. Farabaugh, PC, 12, 12-8; 4. Bry. Biddle, C, 11,
21-5; 5. Smeal, WB; 6. Troutman, JV, 11, 18-3; 7. Claar, BA, 11,
14-3; 8. Fetchko, B, 10, 17-10; 9. D. Thomas, MV, 10, 14-14; 10.
Ratosky, P, 11, 16-10; 11. Brendle, MC, 11; 12. Morgan, MU, 10, 16-3;
13. Heister, J, 9, 18-13; 14. S. Walter, CK, 12, 14-12; 15. Barbera,
WH, 12, 11-15; 16. Harris, JO; 17. Yeckley, G, 10, 10-15; 18. Matson,
LV, 11, 5-6; 19. Yahner, CH, 9, 8-11; 20. Moore, T, 10, 0-3; 21.
Benson, SH, 11, 6-16; 22. Betts, U; 23. Coposky, CC, 10, 4-16.
Instant analysis: I don't see much drama at the top here. Huntingdon's Jacob Oliver looks like the clear-cut favorite, as he beat second-seeded Andrew Hurd of Penns Valley 10-2 last month.
160
1. Doak, B, 12, 30-0; 2. Walters,
WH, 9, 30-2; 3. Mock, C, 12, 37-3; 4. A. Farabaugh, PC, 11, 26-8; 5.
Wagner, H, 11, 30-5; 6. Green, WB, 11, 24-7; 7. R. Thomas, MV, 12,
21-9; 8. Lowe, JO; 9. Shugars, FH, 12, 16-12; 10. Getz, T, 12, 9-3;
11. Singer, JV, 12, 11-10; 12. Knisely, BA, 12, 7-10; 13. Mack, U;
14. Reichenbach, J, 10; 15. Homan, PV, 10, 0-1; 16. Snyder, CC, 11,
1-6; 17. Smith, MU, 11, 8-9; 18. Neil, SH, 12, 2-10; 19. Porterfield,
LV, 11, 0-1; 20. B. Husar, P, 12, 4-18; 21. Sell, CK, 12, 3-16.
Instant analysis: The records alone tell you there are some really talented guys here. Freshman Anthony Walters' only two losses on the season came at the POWERade Tournament, but he hasn't seen most of the guys in this bracket, as he was at 170 for most of the season. If he can get past Mike Mock of Central in the semis, the Westmont freshman's grind-it-out-style would be an interesting contrast to Drew Doak's high-paced attack on his feet. Austin Farabaugh, Jon Wagner and Clayton Green give the weight plenty of depth.
170
1. Niebauer, CH, 12, 25-2; 2.
Slippey, WB, 12, 30-3; 3. Driskel, PC, 11, 23-9; 4. Pecze, B, 12,
23-8; 5. Treaster, J, 12, 25-6; 6. Feathers, CK, 12, 20-7; 7. Farias,
T, 11, 17-12; 8. Mock, BA, 12, 14-10; 9. Hommer, G, 12, 15-9; 10.
Castel, CC, 10, 14-13; 11. Smith, C, 9, 14-8; 12. Carowick, SH, 11,
13-11; 13. Simpson, H, 11, 13-12; 14. March, JO; 15. Stewart, MV, 10,
11-15; 16. Rawlings, JV, 10, 2-1; 17. Michaels, U; 18. Cain, PV, 11,
7-18; 19. Kylor, MU, 11, 1-2; 20. McCabe, P, 11, 3-18; 21. Roseman,
WH, 11, 1-9; 22. Strong, MC.
Instant analysis: Cambria Heights' Levi Niebauer is the favorite, with West Branch's Luke Slippey not too far behind, but I think there's a drop after that.
182
1. Hazel, PV, 12, 29-1; 2. Je.
Wilson, BA, 12, 19-4; 3. Fisher, H, 11, 26-8; 4. Foster, J, 10, 28-0;
5. Cavender, B, 12, 23-6; 6. Carabaugh, SH, 12, 21-4; 7. Smith, MC,
10; 8. Ingalls, U; 9. Litman, JO; 10. Waksmunski, CH, 12, 9-8; 11.
Bookwalter, MU, 11, 14-13; 12. Aungst, C, 10, 3-3; 13. Houck, JV, 11,
7-15; 14. Myers, G, 12, 5-12; 15. Cook, WH, 10, 5-15.
Instant analysis: Top-seeded Corey Hazel of Penns Valley owns major decisions over second-seeded Jeremy Wilson of Bellwood-Antis and third-seeded Logan Fisher of Huntingdon, so I can't see him struggling too much. Juniata's Taylor Foster has the unfortunate fate of being undefeated and in the top half of the bracket with Hazel.
195
1. Thompson, B, 12, 30-0; 2.
McDowell, WB, 11, 29-2; 3. C. Hamilton, MV, 12, 20-8; 4. Rigney, MU,
11, 20-4; 5. Norris, H, 12, 17-5; 6. Link, CH, 11, 17-11; 7. M.
Walter, CK, 12, 20-10; 8. Elgin, FH; 9. Parks, SH, 12, 17-7; 10.
Reader, T, 11, 8-1; 11. Simmers, G, 11, 11-11; 12. St. Clair, PC, 10,
7-13; 13. Gahagan, C, 10, 9-15; 14. Kerns, BA, 10, 4-19; 15. Sharer,
PV, 10, 8-15; 16. Righter, J, 11, 5-11; 17. Thacker, U; 18. Beyer, P,
10, 8-18; 19. Crownover, JV, 11, 6-12; 20. Koslin, WH, 10, 4-11; 21.
Kaschalk, CC, 10, 3-20.
Instant analysis: Scott Thompson is unbeaten and owns a couple of impressive victories over United's Tyler Oliver. I don't think West Branch's Vincent McDowell will be able to match up with Thompson, but I would take him to reach the finals.
220
1. Maines, WB, 12, 31-0; 2.
Oliver, U; 3. Jones, WH, 11; 4. Hockenberry, MU, 11, 25-5; 5. Elder,
CK, 11, 21-9; 6. Carlheim, G, 12, 21-6; 7. T. Mezzello, CH, 12, 19-8;
8. Cramer, MV, 11, 17-6; 9. Kocik, H, 11, 8-8; 10. Lenhardt, B, 12,
9-4; 11. Ferringer, MC; 12. Walk, T, 12, 7-6; 13. Block, FH, 10,
9-16; 14. Love, J, 10, 5-8; 15. Bressler, PV, 10, 7-13; 16. Conrad,
PC, 10, 6-14; 17. Evans, P, 11, 6-11; 18. Gilliland, SH, 4-14; 19.
Hockensmith, R, 9.
Instant analysis: Buzzy Maines is ranked No. 1 in the state for a reason. He's scored at least a major decision over all but four guys he's wrestled this season. One of those is second-seeded Tyler Oliver of United, who Maines beat 9-5 on Jan. 10. I'd expect a rematch in the finals here with Maines coming out on top again. Westmont freshman Josiah Jones missed the first half of the season with a knee injury. It will be interesting to see how he matches up with some of the other high seeds here.
285
1. Winfield, SH, 10, 21-4; 2.
Deitman, U; 3. Ness, G, 12, 16-7; 4. Colyer, T, 10, 19-8; 5. Smith,
B, 12, 20-10; 6. Locke, MU, 11, 18-11; 7. Sbeitan, WH, 12, 11-11; 8.
Kalke, WB, 10, 11-9; 9. Brumbaugh, C, 10, 11-7; 10. Fleck, CK, 10,
14-11; 11. Bogus, CH, 9, 4-3; 12. Johnson, PV, 11, 4-2; 13. Fultz, J,
10, 6-10; 14. Nagle, BA, 11, 5-16; 15. B. Shope, H, 11, 4-18.
Instant analysis: I have to admit, I don't know anything about Southern Huntingdon's Nick Winfield. He does own a 1-0 victory over Glendale's Kody Ness, who is the third seed. United's Andrew Deitman is the second seed. He's come into the district tournament with an impressive record before only to struggle in Altoona. This will be his final chance to impress in what is a less-than-spectacular weight.
Do you know where D7 brackets are?

DeleteFound the brackets. I thought d7 wrestled this weekend and will have another round next weekend but I don't see results.
