A few Knotes:
- Chestnut Ridge has exactly half of the top seeds in the tournament – Aaron Burkett (106), Dylan Wiliams (113), Justin McCoy (120), Derrick Claar (138), Trent Crouse (152), Conner Buttry (195), Shane Davis (285). The other 11 teams in the district have seven combined.
- If the seeds hold, Chestnut Ridge will advance 10 of 14 wrestlers, with Morgan Deremer (second at 132), Colby Hillegass (second at 160) and Luke Hobson (third at 126).
- Berlin Brothersvalley has three of the non-Ridge top seeds – Joe Swank (132), Bryce Fochtman (160) and Taylor Cahill (170) – which isn't a surprise. Meyersdale also has three – Brady McKenzie (145), Chris Hutzell (182) and Ty Smith (220) – which is a surprise, to me, at least.
- The Mountaineers would advance eight wrestlers if the seeds hold, with Storm McDonald (second at 182), Toby Cahill (second at 195), Shane Pepper (second at 220), Anthony Collins (second at 285) and Kane McKenzie (third at 138) as the other one.
- The Red Raiders don't have any wrestlers other than their three top seeds projected to advance to Canonsburg.
- Bedford is the only other team other than Chestnut Ridge, Berlin or Meyersdale with a top seed (Jon Gabriel). Daniel Brett would be the only other Bison advancing, if the seeds hold true.
- Despite only having Tevin Mostoller (second at 145) ranked in the top two, North Star would have six wrestlers advancing if the seeds hold. Seeded third in their respective weights are Keaton Furry (106), Gus Strasiser (152), Dillion Charlton (160), Jon Thomas (182) and Hunter Connor (195).
- Northern Bedford would have five wrestlers advance if the seeds hold true – second seeds Zach Clark (113), Jared Helsley (126), Carter Replogle (138) and Lucas Kolinchak (170) and third-seeded Trey Childers (120).
- Somerset has just four in a position to advance – Quinn Cole (second at 120), Jon Fabian (second at 152), Austin Hemminger (third at 145), Logan Eller (third at 220). Interestingly, Fabian is up a weight class after wrestling all but one match at 145 all year. Hemminger, who spent most of the season at 152, is now down to 145. And Nate Zanoni, who started at heavyweight for most of the season, is out with an injury.
- Everett has two wrestlers projected to advance – Liam Flaherty (third at 113) and Ben Stover (third at 132).
- Tussey Mountain – Oaklee Brode (second at at 106) – and HOPE For Hyndman – Brandon Griese (third at 285) – each have one.
- Conemaugh Township and Shade are projected to get shut out of regionals.
