Berlin results on Day 1 from Redbank Valley

Berlin Brothersvalley advanced nine wrestlers to the semifinals of the 44^th Annual Redbank Valley Wrestling Christmas Tournament, but it still wasn't enough to take the lead in the team standings heading into the second day. The host school leads Berlin 71-70.5 going into today's action.

The Mountaineers had four top-seeded wrestlers – Braden Fochtman (145 pounds), Taylor Cahill (152), Bryce Fochtman (160), Trevor Moore (170) – in the 12-team tournament and each advanced.

Berlin also has Kyle Boyce (106), Joe Swank (120), Shane Pepper (182), Taylor Cahill (195) and Anthony Collins (285) in the semifinals, which begin at 10 this morning.

The Mountaineers’ Tommy DeArmitt went 3-0 at 113 pounds – the only round-robin bracket in the tournament – and can win the title with two wins today.
