Analysis: I knew that Todd Niebauer's squad would be battling numbers issues this year, but the Panthers actually did pretty well in going 3-2 at the Blairsville Duals. The Panthers beat West Shamokin and could have beaten Central Cambria, which I thought would be much improved this year. Penn Cambria won seven of the nine contested matches in that dual.
The big match of the day came in that dual at 106 pounds. Two of my newcomers to watch squared off in showdown that decided the dual. Central Cambria freshman Max Murin won 6-2 over Penn Cambria junior Nolan Link. It was a big victory for the youngster. Not only did it give the Red Devils an insurmountable lead when followed by three straight forfeits, but it will also help him in seeding for the Sheetz Holiday Classic next weekend at Penn Cambria in a 106-pound weight class that should also include Altoona up-and-comer Cole Manley and Link.
 Penn Cambria pounded Indiana and Northern Cambria. The Colts did get a solid victory at 220 pounds, as Joey Frontino edged John Wilkinson, 3-1 in OT.
