Conemaugh Township Holiday Tournament, Day 1

Westmont Hilltop and Mount Union had the best starts to the 44th Conemaugh Township Holiday Tournament, with eight unbeaten wrestlers apiece, but the most impressive run might have been turned in by the host school.

What I didn't realize until after the final bout had ended and I tallied up some stats was how well Conemaugh Township fared. Coach Jarod Feathers' squad had seven unbeaten wrestlers on the day. That's an impressive showing for a team that most of us would not mention in the same breath with Westmont and Mount Union. While I still expect today the Hilltoppers and Trojans to distance themselves from the field today, the Indians are making strides under Feathers
