Wednesday night recap 1/4

There was only one match on the local schedule on Wednesday, but it was a good one. Chestnut Ridge edged Berlin 35-25 in a dual that was not decided until the final two bouts.
I covered the match for The Tribune-Democrat and did a complete video recap of it, which you can watch for free on the link above.

Records: Chestnut Ridge 13-4; Berlin Brothersvalley 1-3.

Analysis: This was the third time I've seen each of these teams, so I had a pretty good feel for how this would go. There were no major surprises. Bradie Bollman wrestled the best match I've seen from him this year, beating Trace Heffner at 160 pounds less than a week after Heffner knocked off Somerset's Josh Darr. I would have given Austin Buttry the edge at heavyweight, but Mitchell Walker was able to pull out the 3-2 victory. Buttry looked to be in better condition, but Walker was helped by an injury timeout and a couple of blood timeouts. Trent Crouse gave Chris Miller everything he wanted at 120 pounds, but Miller's first-period takedown enabled him to hold on for a 3-2 victory. Zach Etterman was beating E.J. Custer for most of the first period and was tied with him until the final seconds of the second period, when Custer reversed him and picked up the fall.
