Those of you that stayed until the very end of the District 6 Class AA tournament on Friday, witnessed a scary moment, as Forest Hills 285-pounder Matt Marra suffered a neck injury in one of the final matches of the evening.
Marra didn't get up after being pinned by Juniata Valley's Alex Culp and was quickly attended to by medical personnel. He was taken off on a stretcher and loaded to an ambulance, but coach Jake Strayer said at the time that Marra was able to move.
I just saw Coach Strayer this morning and asked him about Marra. He said that it was just a stinger and that Marra is already at home.
I know that all neck injuries are treated very seriously - and rightly so - but it's always frightening to see a situation like Marra's, and it's good to hear that he's doing fine.
